Only thing needed now is an official production green light. It appears as if the on-again, off-again rumorsregarding a potential new Mazda RX-7 have been settled. According to a new report from Autocar, Mazda will bring back its legendary rotary-powered two-seater in 2016. Supposedly, it'll be powered by an all-new 250 horsepower rotary and will be based on a version of the same platform that'll underpin the upcoming new MX-5, itself due to arrive in 2015. At the moment, the new RX-7's exterior design hasn't been fully locked down, but the man in charge of its styling, Ikuo Maeda, has a special bond to the RX-7: his father was head of Mazda design in the 1970s when the original RX-7 debuted. Autocar is also claiming the new rotary will be a naturally aspirated unit, and won't incorporate any use of hybrid assistance. More than likely, the new engine will have a 1.2-liter capacity. Mazda execs have still yet to officially green light production, as the business case numbers are still being worked out. Fortunately, rotary development and exterior/interior design is still ongoing. Come see us at your local Mazda dealership in Akron, Ohio at Park Mazda located on the Green Auto Mile.

2015 Honda Fit To Make 2014 Detroit Auto Show Debut
The Honda Fit has always been a little different from other small cars. A little more zing, a dash more space inside and a much smarter interior layout than most.
The new 2015 model looks set to continue those trends, but we'll know for sure from January as that's when the car will make its U.S. debut, at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
Honda says the new Fit will "showcase significant advancements designed to further extend Fit's status as the benchmark vehicle in the subcompact-car class", which means further refinements to its clever interior and a new powertrain.
Touted under Honda's 'Earth Dreams Technology' banner, we know this to be a new 1.5-liter gasoline four-cylinder.
With a continuously-variable transmission (CVT), Honda officials predict it'll achieve 36 mpg combined in EPA-rated testing--up from the current model's 31 mpg.
What it won't get is the start-stop system used in other markets to save gas in city traffic. Honda is worried the system will cause too much "acceleration lag" for U.S. drivers--that the car may not have fully completed its restarting cycle by the time the driver has mashed the gas.
The new Fit should at least have class-leading safety and an innovative, flexible passenger area, as all previous Fits have offered.
The 2015 Honda Fit will be launched at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show on January 13.
